Subway Art-Typography-Anniversary Ideas

A fun way to use typography to make a card or canvas for an anniversary or birthday.  Personalizing it is really half the fun and adds meaning.  This was used in the actual session too!

Image Folios and Our 20th Wedding Anniversary

I am so  blessed to have an amazing husband. Celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this month has been a real mile stone and highlight.  One of the ways we chose to document the occasion was by hiring a dear friend and VERY talented photographer Marcia Kuyper from Joyful Gestures Photography in Tempe.  She has known us most of those 20 years and I knew she would capture us just they way we are.  So the photo credits go to her; she did an amazing job on location at a local wine bar.  You can visit her website here at http://joyfulgesturesphotography.blogspot.com.  Thank you Marcia!!

But now the job of displaying the photographs has come and I’ve chosen this unique image folio for my husband’s home office. It sits nicely on a bookshelf or desk.  No need for a frame and more than one picture can be used.  Image Folios begin with the option of a custom photographic cover and are complete with two image panels on the inside left and right. Image Folios are completely customizable allowing you to decide the layout of the images and design.  There are different fabric options including leather and suede. Folios are available in lustre or metallic paper with a matte laminate in the following sizes: 4×5, 5×7, 8×8, and 8×10.  Prices start at 85.oo.

F stops and Sunsets-

Sometimes the ad guys get it right!  Sad but true, as a wife and mom that is passionate about photography there are so many occasions that I just have to be in the moment without the camera.  This is a real challenge and I forced myself in the year of 2009 to leave my camera behind  that year on most family vacations so that I could be in the moment more with my kids and husband.  Rather than being a spectator behind the lens, I splashed in the sea, rode the rides, pushed the swing and built the sandcastles. Sometimes our most precious memories are not the ones that can be captured on file through a camera but the ones that live embedded in our minds, where a photograph will never do it justice.  “Put the camera down” may sound like a strange goal for a photographer, but is one I do hold myself accountable to. Like anything in life, sometimes too much of a good thing, is just that.
