I started dabbling in photography back in the film days but really didn’t develop a passion for it until my first son was born in 2001. I wanted to document everything with him as a first- time mom. I continued my education and found myself drawn to the art of black and white photography; enrolling in photography classes and spending my free time in a dark room. I remember when every shot counted because there were no digital files. It had to be right the first time, no photoshop or post-processing to enhance or “fix” the photograph.
Well, long gone are the days of film, BUT I wouldn’t trade that time for the world! I still stack and compare my digital photographs to the richness and depth of film and strive to get it right straight out of the camera. In 2003 I bought my first digital SLR camera, and Timeless Photography by Dana Kaupie was born. I have mainly photographed infants, children, teens and families in the East Valley including Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek and Scottsdale.
I’m a homeschooling mom of 4 boys and have been married for 25 years to an incredible guy! In our spare time you’ll find us boating at the lake, hanging with dear family and friends, and watching some D-Backs Baseball and/or ASU Football; Go Devils! While raising little men is my full-time job I’m thankful for the opportunity to use the art of photography to express and create. Thank you for visiting Timeless Photography by Dana Kaupie, where capturing true spirit is my goal.
